Waiver of customer gifts in favour of charitable donation

In 2021, Far East Land Bridge (FELB) will do without customer gifts at Christmas. Instead, the railway operator headquartered in Vienna plans to donate the available amount to the Women’s Shelters Vienna, thus making a valuable, social contribution.

The Women’s Shelters Association in Vienna was founded in 1978. There are four women’s shelters in Vienna that offer protection and help to abused or threatened women and their children. Altogether there are about 175 places for women and children. There is also an outpatient counselling centre. The counselling is always anonymous and free of charge.

Far East Land Bridge specialises in transporting 40-foot DV, HV and 20-foot containers between the Far East (China, South Korea and Japan), Russia and Europe. Since 2007, FELB has been scoring points with its customers for its service orientation. This year, instead of giving customer gifts, FELB decided to donate the amount spent to an important social project.

“We didn’t have to think long about where our donation should go this year,” explains Uwe Leuschner, CEO of the FELB Group. However, this was not because there were not enough projects worthy of support, emphasises Leuschner, but because the admirable commitment of the Women’s Shelter Association in Vienna is an outstanding example of solidarity – thus of values that deserve special attention in the pre-Christmas season. Through this donation, FELB would like to make its contribution to helping women and women and children in need. “This kind of meaningful giving is a matter close to our hearts and we are sure that our customers see it the same way,” adds Leuschner.
