Far East Land Bridge further expands key positions

Shanghai, October 18th, 2021 – Following the reorganization in Europe, the Railway Operator team in China is also being reorganized. Team member of Far East Land Bridge since July 1st 2021, Markus Fischer took over the operational agendas as CEO in China on August 17th, supporting Uwe Leuschner as CEO of the FELB Group. His goal is to shape and consolidate FELB Shanghai into the mainstay of the group’s international developments. Fischer strengthens his team with Frankie Gao, who takes over the role as Head of Operations, and William Shi, who completes the team at the top in Shanghai as Head of Sales.

Markus Fischer (34) brings with him extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of business development, sales and management – both at strategic and operational level. Fischer was previously Head of Network Development and before that Senior Manager Enterprise Accounts in the Multimodal & Dedicated Solutions Land Transport division of DB Schenker Shanghai, P. R. China. He was responsible for opening up new business areas in DB Schenker’s global network, developing new strategies and training talent for future management roles.

Fischer worked for the DB Group for a total of 16 years, gaining extensive experience in the international logistics market. For nine of those years, Fischer was employed in Germany. He then supported the company for seven years in Chinese branches such as Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing. 

Born in Germany, he studied logistics management, speaks fluent English in addition to his native German and holds an HSK 3-4 certificate in Chinese.

Frankie Gao – New Head of Operations, FELB Shanghai

With more than 15 years of extensive experience in the Eurasian market, Gao has joined the FELB Shanghai team as New Head of Operations since the 15th of July. Gao is responsible for quality control and optimisation of ongoing operations in the Asian market, crisis management, implementation of new projects, pricing and process standardisation. Gao acquired extensive knowledge at InterRail Shanghai Co, CityUnion Multimodal Transport Co Ltd and L’Assurex International Logistics.

William Shi – New Head of Sales, FELB Shanghai

Another new member of the Chinese team is William Shi, who is well experienced in logistics. Since the 15th of July, Shi has been supporting and advising the FELB Shanghai team in all sales matters and is responsible for establishing new product and sales strategies on the Chinese market. Shi acquired the necessary skills in his previous positions at InterRail Shanghai, Co, CityUnion Multimodal Transport Co Ltd and Winkey Logistics Co Ltd, among others.
