Medical & protective equipment for France on track
FELB contributes with its strengths in overcoming current pandemic situation. Protective equipment will be delivered within 20 days to France.
Russian Railways Logistics, SNCF Forwardis (a subsidiary of SNCF, a national company of French Railways), Cosco group and UTLC ERA organize the delivery of medical devices from Nanchang (Jiangxi Province, Eastern China) to Paris.
A first train of 41 x 40-foot containers carrying medical supplies (40 million medical masks, gloves, gel dispensers and other protective equipment) departed from Nanchang Central Station in China on June 4. The arrival in Paris is expected in 20 days, which is twice as fast as by sea and several times cheaper than air delivery.
The cargo is entirely destined for hospitals and local authorities and will be distributed in the Ile-de-France region and the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region in France.
The train will follow the “southern” transit route through Kazakhstan, operated by UTLC ERA. Cosco Shipping Group and CRCT will provide forwarding through the territory of China, through the territory of 1520 gauge – “Russian Railways Logistics”, through the territory of Europe – SNCF Forwardis. FELB acted as the coordinator of partner negotiations in China and Europe. Within this cooperation, upcoming trains are expected within next weeks.
“We understood quickly, that we can support containment of COVID-19 with what we are best in: Organization of fast and reliable shipments. That`s why we are not only proud on our first shipments of protective equipment in May, but also happily contributed our know how and network into this project. We stand together against COVID-19.”
